Shady gully reserve situated right alongside is home to a variety of possums and birds such as lyre bird and has been known for bird watchers to see the powerful owl. Away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, (1 kilometre and one minute by car.) children can roam the park making friends, playing in the sand pit, or on the play equipment, and enjoy the solar heated pool. Likely to be seen in quiet times are kangaroos, possums and a large variety of bird life.
