At Camp Coolamatong our leaders take immense protection to get to know campers, so that challenges are pitched appropriately to individuals. This includes but is not limited to: pitching activities to the physical and cognitive abilities of the campers correctly fitting and utilizing safety equipment in activities conducting and adapting activities to face environmental influences delivering activities according to apropos government and industry standards and protocol maintaining thorough and diligent mature supervision at all times. Camp Coolamatong provides a variety of camping programs and experiences to groups ranging from fully catered and programmed school camps throughout the week, to self catered weekend camps. As such Camp Coolamatong has a commitment to: Camp Coolamatong specialisms in delivering outdoor adventure activities to school children. Therefore we would seek to provide significant connections that campers can access if they would like to pursue a certain camping experience further. Providing pathways for campers to access particular interest activities and recreational pursuits within local and community based groups and organizations. Camp Coolamatong has only but a scanty days to invest in the lives of campers. We recognize that this therefore limits how much we can do in a young life. As Christians we believe that the world in which we live was created by God. Respect peoples' worth and individuality. Protection for the land on which we live, recognizing we are caretakers not owners. Sharon loves camping and the outdoors, and is energized by the way that children and young people come to life in the difficult and exciting settings at a deposit like Camp Coolamatong. Both Lynda and Andy served as activity leaders at Coolamatong in 1997. Andy is a competent carpenter who combines his feasible skills and love of the outdoors with his passion to see young kids grow in confidence and skill as they are immersed within the caring environment that is Camp Coolamatong. But beyond impartial the kitchen, each of these people strongly trust in the importance of children and young people and love to see the camp site buzzing with activity. Each year young adults serve as Activity Leaders and Cooks Assistant at the campsite. Ken's long term commitment to Camp Coolamatong is a reflection of his calling to encourage children's ministry and introduce people of all ages to the beauty of Gods creation so clear in and around the Gippsland Lakes. Neill', the camp launch, was purchased in 1979 and has been transporting campers across the lake for over 20 years.

The James family first stable the land on which Camp Coolamatong operates in the 1880’s. The four James brothers worked approximately 300 acres of land. In 1973 Scripture Union purchased a further 170 acres from the Barton's, and in 1977 the beginning school camp was conducted there. Neill', the camp launch, was purchased in 1979 and has been transporting campers across the lake for over 20 years. The boat came from Queens cliff and was named behind Charlie Neill, a local boat builder who had been looking after Coolamatong boats for many years.
